7240338.thm.jpgSo there’s a new poker club in town. Very private. Very swanky. I had the opportunity to play a few..um, hundred hands this weekend in a private, secure club.

But not a cheap one. Between time and parking – a five hour stay can cost you $65. Stay all night? Kiss goodbye one lonely c-note. Luckily just about everything else is complimentary. But that “personal” overhead makes profitable poker a real challenge.

So a quick quesiton – with the poker boom worldwide, with the raft of poker raids and robberies in Virginia – what’s the best place to play? (And let’s posit that a 4 hour drive to Atlantic City after work on Fridays is right out.)

Alright, that settles it. I have the coolest job on the planet.

More tomorrow. Now, sleep. But for the record – Jesus *does* take his hat off. When he plays pool. I’m 2-0.

Three world reknown poker players – Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Greg Raymer, and Howard Lederer came to Washington, DC on April 4-5 to lobby Congress to reject a bill by Congressman Bob Goodlatte which seeks to ban online gaming – with the notable exceptions of horseracing and lotteries. They’ve met with members of the media, Capitol Hill staff, and other influencers. I was lucky enough to tag along. Did I mention I have the coolest job ever?
