Dog update

First, thanks to the lot of you that have emailed and commented about the wee turd with a serious palsy.

She’s doing better. We still don’t have a diagnosis, but after putting her back on the prednisone, her shakes have been considerably reduced. She’s still got a pretty fragile stomach – and I think one of the unfortunate side effects of this whole affair will likely be her newfound disdain for all things dog food. (she would only keep down canned tuna, and she’s taken quite the liking to it.)

So, fingers still crossed!

Odd thoughts

MaggieMy dog got a spinal tap today. Maybe she’ll go all the way to 11. When the valium wears off, that is.

We don’t know what’s wrong with her yet, but it’s definitely neurological. She had, by all accounts, a really good visit to SouthPaws, a new vet facility just down the road. She’ll certainly be going back. One bright side seems to be that the rapid and aggressive progression of her symptoms (in short, take a 2.5 year old dog and instantly age her 12 more years) speaks to the possibility that her ailment is a treatable one.

Keeping fingers crossed.

15 minutes!

Well, would you look at that. Person of the week. It’s always amusing to see shades of Dan Rather abound.

Go to RedState. It’s all new.

Steve didn’t like the Agency.com stunt creating a video for a Subway new business pitch. In fact, he’s pretty harsh on the bunch. Now – yes, it was corny. Yes, it was a stunt.

But it’s also a stunt that worked – fabulously well. (by just about any metric, I think) I’m not bothered that some bloggers that work in advertising or marketing are whacking the Agency.com folks, not a bit. In fact, in my own experience – the biggest challenge these folks have is getting over one simple hurdle: they’re not normal people. Heck, they’re not even normal bloggers for that matter.

It was fun, it was self-deprecating, and I personally don’t think it hurts Subway’s brand at all: but then again, I also doubt any of us on the outside are really in a position to answer that with any certainty.
