7240338.thm.jpgSo there’s a new poker club in town. Very private. Very swanky. I had the opportunity to play a few..um, hundred hands this weekend in a private, secure club.

But not a cheap one. Between time and parking – a five hour stay can cost you $65. Stay all night? Kiss goodbye one lonely c-note. Luckily just about everything else is complimentary. But that “personal” overhead makes profitable poker a real challenge.

So a quick quesiton – with the poker boom worldwide, with the raft of poker raids and robberies in Virginia – what’s the best place to play? (And let’s posit that a 4 hour drive to Atlantic City after work on Fridays is right out.)

Is it legal? The clubs in NYC walk a strange line where it’s illegal to own/run them but not illegal to play in them. What do they charge for time? I would pay $65 a night to play somewhere in NYC that wasn’t at risk of being busted.
